Great museum

1938年(昭和13)、耐氷型貨物船として建造され、太平洋戦争を経て引揚船、灯台補給船として活躍したあと、1956年(昭和31)から日本初の南極観測船として1962年(昭和37)4月まで、6回に渡り南極と日本の間を往復。

その後は1978年(昭和53)まで海上保安庁の巡視船として活躍。退役後の1979年(昭和54)から現在の場所に係留され、保存展示されている。

地獄のような場所。

検温もアルコール消毒もなく入場できました。

入場してまず向かったお目当ての森永、

それが終わるまで他の体験ができないということで諦め。

アイス屋さん、11:00〜(1時間待ち)体験可能。とりあえず待つことに。

東京港や臨海副都心の歴史、現在、未来の姿について紹介する東京都の施設で、東京湾の歴史を４００年という期間で昔から今の姿について、展示ブースを分けて紹介している。

ビルの最上階にあるが、東京都の広報施設なので入場料は無料。２０階のため、景色の見ごたえも抜群で。館内には２台、双眼鏡があるがこちらもなんと無料。

Great museum for a 1 hour visit

ＪＲ京葉線越中島駅１番出口より清澄通りの歩道橋を月島方面へ渡り直進した東京海洋大学越中島キャンパス内にある明治丸の記念館である。展示内容は多いとは言えないが記念館と東京海洋大学資料館、明治丸船体を合わせるとなかなかのボリュームである。ガイドして頂いた方に因れば基本的に火曜日と木曜日が開館日であるが詳細はホームページで確認をとの事である。記念館内は撮影禁止の注意を受け、展示内容をガイドの方の説明を拝聴しつつ確認して行く。明治丸は明治６年当時の日本政府が英国に発注した灯台巡回船であった事、当初…

平日昼間に行ってきましたが貸し切り状態でした、ゆっくり見れてよかったです。滞在時間30分。ただ展示品の説明を全部読むと2時間以上かかります。
