Having a great experience with Coto Azabu Juban. I've been attending for almost two years (intermediate level). The teachers are great, the material is well structured, fellow students are engaged and the lessons are challenging but fun. Highly recommend.

Coto helped me learn very efficiently daily conversation in japanese in only 2 months. The staff is amazing always very helpful and kind. Will honestly recommend for people staying in Japan for a short period of time as per Coto being so assertive with their dynamic fast pace learning courses!.:)

I really enjoy my private lessons with Hara-sensei. She really knows how to teach Japanese and break down difficult concepts in ways that are easy to understand. Many Japanese “teachers” you can find on apps or other unvetted websites only have the qualification to teach Japanese because they speak it — they can't teach it the way Coto Academy can. I've passed N3 because of Coto Academy and am making big strides towards N2 as well!

Great language school located in Azabujuban. Nice setting, with lots of classrooms and study areas. Friendly and welcoming staff, who take great care of students. Wonderful, patient and warm teachers guiding you along your language journey.

August 2020: I've been taking lessons at Coto Club for about a year now. The teachers and staff are all super supportive, encouraging, and understanding. It's a great school no matter what your language ability. I studied Japanese in college many many years ago. I thought my placement would be tricky because, even though I wasn't a complete beginner, there were many basics that I had forgotten. They took my concerns into consideration and recommended that I take the Bridge to Intermediate class. When I couldn't take that class for scheduling reasons, they continued to work with me to find a suitable class. In short, I'm very happy with my experience here!

Update July 2022: Because of corona, I had to leave Japan two years ago. During this time, I have continued to take one-on-one online lessons. As expected, my experience here has been great! The staff is always attentive to my needs and requests. I wanted to study the text from a game (which I was oddly embarrassed about) but the staff and my teacher have all been supportive! I've considered finding a new school local to where I live, but I keep coming back to Coto because I don't think I can find the same level of customization and support anywhere else. Their courses are targeted to people living in Japan who need daily phrases to function. But the school is so accommodating that I'd recommend them whatever your learning needs are. I wish I could have taken lessons with them before going to Japan! … – show

I've been taking private lessons at Coto Club for about a year now. The lessons I receive correspond exactly to my expectation and I am very satisfied. I also really appreciate the courteous and friendly atmosphere of Coto Club. I am always happy to recommend the school every time I am asked.

I've been studying at COTO for 2 years and love the teachers and the atmosphere. There are cheaper options out there, but I'm found the convenient location, teachers, materials and teaching approach suits my part-time Japanese learning perfectly. And COTO is where I met other interesting ex-pats and get moral support and recommendations for living in Tokyo. It is a lovely community.

I took classes at Coto Japanese Club for about 1 year and I felt my japanese level improved considerably thanks to the teachers. They were patient and professional enough to guide me through my lessons. I miss them so much.

I've really enjoyed taking private lessons at Coto Japanese Club. They'll discuss your learning objectives with you and tailor your lessons to match. For example, I'm currently working through two textbooks in separate lessons — one focused on growing my everyday conversation skills, and the other on grammar rules needed for JLPT preparation. I have been taking classes with Coto Club for over 1 year now. Both the staff and the teachers are extremely professional and invested in my learning. The curriculum is thoughtfully put together in a way that makes it both easy and fun to learn the language. I am very happy I decided to partner with Coto in my journey to learn Japanese, and I recommend it to anyone looking for a Japanese language school.

I have taken Japanese lessons in various places and find that Coto stands out for the care they put in the classes and the program. The teachers have all been very good and patient, really nice to work with and stimulating. Coto's program is flexible and it's easy to schedule make-up classes. It's also a great place to meet interesting people — I've made many good friends here.

Amazing staff and professional teachers. I have taken classes at Coto for a year and have recommend it to lots of my friends. My daughter also attends kids classes. I've made lots of friends from my group lessons and the stuff are super friendly and flexible l.

Coto Club run lots of fun and cultural functions throughout the year. If your looking for an enjoyable experience learning Japanese, try a trial class here!

I've been taking classes at Coto Japanese Club in Azabu Juban for 1.5 years. The teachers are very professional, the class sizes are a maximum of 8 students which is just perfect (many classes are smaller with 4—6 students), the classes are fun, educational and most importantly they keep me going without getting frustrated or giving up:-). Thank you Coto!
