We, my wife and two adult daughters, had such a great time on our bike tour with Andy. Andy is a warm and engaging person who really knows his way around Tokyo and has wonderful insight to its people and day to day life there. His bikes are nothing fancy but are in great condition and comfortable to ride. Andy makes sure everyone is safe and comfortable; no rider is left behind! We rode the streets and narrow back-ways of Koenji and Nakano (Tokyo's west side), at an easy pace with the option to take needed breaks, seeing a side of Tokyo unseen by most tourists where Andy informed us on how the residents live.
The food portion of the tour was simple and delightful. We had a drink (from a common source but often overlooked by tourists), a meal (best Ramen we had our entire trip), and two snacks (both items we never would have known about otherwise) in the manner of a local. All from different local businesses and all with their own interesting back story. We highly recommend taking one of Andys bike tours to see a side of Tokyo that many tourists miss.… – show

Perfect way to learn about Japanese culture and see parts of the city you’d never find on your own. Andy was the perfect guide, so informative with how the Japanese live, it was such a brilliant way to spend the afternoon. Had delicious food along the ride and we loved riding through the narrow paths and streets. Must do if you come to Tokyo absolutely loved it.

Our family of two adults and two teenagers loved Andy’s tour. It was a great way to see some of Tokyo’s lesser known neighbourhoods and Andy had great insights into the way of life here. Riding the mamachari bikes was a lot of fun and the kids enjoyed it too!
Hi Martina, It was brilliant cycling with the family the other day through the back-streets of Tokyo. Really happy to hear that you enjoyed getting off the beaten path a bit and that the kids enjoyed the bike ride as well. It's always a pleasure hosting guests from Melbourne and I hope you enjoyed the rest of the holiday! Cheers, Andy

Andy took me round the cool (but less travelled) parts of Western Tokyo. I've been to Tokyo many times but this was totally unique and very enjoyable.
Andy is a great guide, and the retro bike was a smooth ride. Totally recommend!
Thanks for spending your first morning back in Tokyo on the bikes with me Alexus! It was a real pleasure riding the west side on our 90's Zunow and Samson bikes, couldn't have asked for a nicer winter's day. Happy to hear that I could show you something a bit different this visit. Enjoy the two week stay with the family, Andy!

I am an avid road cyclist and it was truly a treat to hop onto Andy’s retro steel frames for a ride around the local suburbs. Andy was really flexible and catered specifically to my wants combining both an extended route plus a food tour all in one. Highly recommend for those who are into cycling as you will have definitely have a quite a unique experience.

This was easily one of the best tours I've done period. What made this bike tour so great was the authenticity of local culture & life we were able to immerse in. Second, Andy is such an awesome guide: answering all our questions and sharing his personal stories. I definitely left the tour having a new perspective of what life in Japan is like. I highly recommend this tour to everyone.
Hey Susan, Brilliant riding with you both on our Tokyo bike and food tour of the west-side of Tokyo yesterday. Really, really happy to hear that you enjoyed yourselves and got a taste of local life through the streets and eateries we visited. Thanks for the kind support and be sure to say hello if you're ever back in town! Cheers, Andy.

Great day out with Andy! Experience a very different Tokyo in a charming neighbourhood away from the usual big 'sights', and learnt things that a casual visitor would not be able to understand. Such a wonderful day!!!
Hey P.S great to hear for you and thanks for dropping by this side of town for our Tokyo cycling tour together. It was a real pleasure meeting you and getting to know about the fantastic work you're doing over in Singapore. Can't wait to jump on one of your ETC street food tours myself! Looking forward to catching up again in the near future. Cheers, Andy!

Andy, our Australian guide, was just what we were looking for! He patiently answered all our questions. He gave us a better understanding of daily life in Japan. It was so much fun to ride up through different neighborhoods, getting an understanding of how they go to work, put out garbage and deal with living is such tight spaces. The exposure to local foods and markets was just wonderful. Andy was a fabulous host!

Highly morning spent with Andy getting to know the west side of Tokyo! He was very informative, friendly and the tour was operated at a comfortable pace. Andy was always conscious of keeping the group together and prioritised the wishes of the group at all times even if it wasn’t what he originally planned. We had an authentic vending machine drink in the morning, delicious gyoza for lunch and topped it off with a traditional red bean cake — all included. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Japan!… – show

This was one of my most memorable afternoons of travel--anywhere, and at anytime. Andy keeps things at a comfortable and leisurely and enjoyable pace, while also making sure that you cover some ground--not just literally, but also in learning. Great snacks and Andy's observations and insights leads to a day of feeling what it might be like to LIVE here, not just tick off all the items on a tourist list. After a truly lovely ride and some absolutely lovely snacks, he also pointed us in the right direction to continue our evening, hanging with the locals at stand up bars in the beautiful lit back streets of Nakano. I cannot recommend this trip--or this guide--any more enthusiastically. Do it. And bring your friends!… – show
Hi Jenn, it was absolutely brilliant meeting Margot and yourself Saturday afternoon. Thanks for taking the time to leave such a detailed comment on our bike ride together as I know you have an extremely busy schedule. I don't think we could have asked for a nicer afternoon to cycle the streets of Tokyo and sample a bit of the local food along the journey. All the best with the project and have a fantastic stay here in Japan. Hope we get to bump into each other again, Andy!

Hi Karl, Brilliant meeting the family on Sunday afternoon on our Tokyo walking and street food tour of Nakano and Koenji. Really happy to hear that you enjoyed yourselves and thanks again for the comment and recommendation! Hope to see you all back in Tokyo at some point. Cheers, Andy!

The guide was very friendly and knowledgeable about the area, and did well to pick out some interesting foods that I had not had before, despite living in Japan for quite some time.

Meeting Andy and joining him on his bike tour is one of the highlights of our trip to Tokyo. His knowledge of the local area, Japanese customs and everyday life gives you a good insight as to how people of Japan live. We have walked all over Tokyo seeing the usual tourist sites but Andys tour topped them all. For anyone that maybe concerned with the 15km ride don't be it's very flat and easy going with many interesting stops along the way and the food is lovely.
Hi Liz, thanks again for leaving this comment back in March for our Tokyo bike tour together, it's very kind of you! As mentioned, happy to hear that it was one of the highlights of your trip and it's always a pleasure having a chat with a friendly couple from Melbourne. Things as you can imagine have been pretty quiet over here on the cycling front but hopefully it starts picking up soon. I hope you're both doing well, Andy!
