To start, i am native level bilingual japanese and english. And my husband has a decent amount of experience fixing cars.
We wanted to get the car fixed at a garage to not have to buy the tools and get it done right since we just moved back to japan with nothing yet, my husband and i came to the garage at lunch time, there were not many cars in the parking lot at that time, and one worker there.
We told him we'd like our wheel bearing fixed as we checked the car and knew one side needed fixing.
My husband spoke to him in english and they had the conversation to which the worker was trying to get us out asap.
Told us ''today'' it will get done. Never spoke aboutism on price, time, just ''ok'' and ''today'' keep on mind i did say a few words in japanese, so they had the opportunity to speak to me and there no language barrier excuse.
We waited until 4Pm and went to go check up on our car as the place closes at 5ish.
They had more workers but they acted like they didnt have our car asking me in japanese ''are you sure youre at the right ushihama garage'' i got baffled, After a few minutes while the lady was shaming us ''we should have told them we needed it today, we could have prioritized'' even though we were told ''today'' they found out they just started test driving to see whats wrong with the car, they didnt even start the process.
then they kept gaslighting us that ''theres no way we could finish today'' “lunch time must have been filled with cars here'' even though they told us they could finish today, plus doesnt that go against what the lady said? Then tried to make us order parts we already brought in for them to use for our car, trying to make us worry our part ''may not work!'' But we knew it would.
It felt very dishonest and unprofessional. I wouldn't have minded the fact they couldn't finish, but the unprofessionalism and rudeness and disorganized staff sadly gave us a bad experience.
My dad used to come here to get work done on his car, so im sad i couldn't do the same. We will find another place or do it ourselves.
